Four-Year Area Plan

The Area Agency on Aging is responsible for preparing a four-year plan detailing demographics, goals and objectives, areas of need, and other information regarding the senior population in the seven southeast Idaho counties.

Legislators

Idaho Commission on Aging (ICOA)

The Idaho Commission on Aging is Idaho's Aging and Disability Resource Center and is the state agency designated by the governor to administer and ensure compliance of federally funded programs under the Federal Older Americans Act. Visit aging.idaho.gov

Advisory Council

The Area Agency on Aging has an Advisory Council consisting of 10 members from the southeast Idaho area representing elderly and specific services in the seven (7) counties. The Council meets monthly from January to May, and from September to December. The summer months do not have a meeting.

Volunteer Opportunities

Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Under the services of SEICAA or the Southeast Idaho Community Action Agency in Pocatello, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is enacted for seniors 55 years of age and older. Multiple opportunities are available. For more information on how to volunteer, go to SEICAA’s website at www.seicaa.org/senior-programs/retired-senior-volunteer-program-rsvp

Senior Medicare Patrol Volunteers. This program utilizes volunteers to educate seniors on how to prevent healthcare/ Medicare fraud, how to avoid being a target and how to report suspicious billing. This program is located at the Area Agency on Aging and assistance can be given at 208-233-4032. volunteer.docx

Ombudsman Volunteers. The Area Agency on Aging is in need of volunteer advocates and problem solvers for people 60 years of age or older who have questions about long term care. Long term care may be in a person's home, in an assisted living center or in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. Call the Area Agency on Aging at 208-233-4032 for more information.
